Christmas....whew..

Well, Christmas Day has come and gone..and with it an entire year of stress has ceased to be! Now we get to wait patiently until December 31st, and it's time for the blow-out of the year! It's moments like this that I feel like an idiot for not taking school more seriously! Wow. I am blessed to have the opportunity to learn, and I choose not to. I think that Plan Canada and the Because I'm A Girl campaign might just be one of the coolest charities in the world. So many countries doom themselves to lives of poverty because they refuse to empower their women. The twisted part is that so many of us women in Canada doom OURSELVES to lives of sadness and struggle because we refuse to empower ourselves! Inaction is not an option!! I will be adding regular Plan Canada updates to the blog and will also be making them a beneficiary for future Living Society projects!

TLS CHOIR!!!

Do you love to sing, dance and l volunteer in your community? If so you should think about joining The Living Society Choir!! Open to men and women aged 16 and above, we will learn exciting and uplifting music and participate in building and enhancing our community! If you are looking to gain confidence and a better understanding of music by performing a variety of musical styles, ( including but not limited to, gospel, jazz, contemporary, inspirational, musical theater and Hip-Hop). Participants will also be given the opportunity to record professionally!

In addition to performing, TLSC places emphasis on community outreach, and volunteering! Participants will attend educational and motivational workshops and will work closely with leaders to develop their talents, skills, self-esteem and confidence!

Auditions for The Vagina Monologues!!

Wednesday 16th December at 7pm and Thursday 17th December at 7pm
for women over 16 ( mature subject matter)

Rehearsals will be twice weekly in the evenings starting January 7th. Performances are February 26th and 27th ( with a possible matinee on the 28th)

I left my heart at the El Dorado....

Last night was an absolute riot of a night at the El Dorado! I hit the stage with some of my fave Van City rap cats such as JP Marin ( Coast Riderz), Ta-Naz, Mr Freeze, Russian Diamonds and my boy D -Rec a.k.a The Crate Crusader on the 1's and 2's. We absolutely rocked the house, and will be doing the same every wednesday so if you like cheap beer, and wicked music, I suggest you hit the El Do!

The Living Society

I started the Living Society as a fun way to keep abreast of the changing face of music, art, dance and fashion in Van City. We live in such an eclectic and evolving community, with so many varying cultural influences, all of which rear themselves most visibly in our artistic endeavors!

I have always had an interest in fashion and the arts and take great joy in spending hours wandering the streets of Vancouver taking in the beautiful sights, sounds and designs.
